Nursing Eba Agreement Victoria


There are 250 agreements on Victorian ANMF members who are nurses, midwives and private caregivers for the elderly. These EBs, which cover many jobs, usually expire after three or four years. Your Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) is one of the most important documents of your professional life. Negotiations on small jobs ensued. These include private, not-for-profit centres for the elderly, bush care clinics, municipalities, palliative care, dialysis, endoscopy, radiology, pathology, family doctor`s offices and IVF. It is an agreement between the employer and the employee that reveals your wages, working conditions, career structures, allowances and rights. The EBA works with the full force of the law. If a job has a registered contract, the premium does not apply. However, registered contracts are valid until termination or redemption. One of the main reasons an ANMF member supported the ACTU`s “Change the Rules” campaign on the eve of the last federal election. The provisions of the Fair Work Act provide only for an enterprise agreement covering an employer. This restriction has often left nurses, midwives and nurses in smaller occupations, where members have less bargaining power due to declining numbers, lower wages and lower conditions.

Enterprise bargaining was an imperfect system that nurses, midwives and personal assistants did not benefit in the same way. Bupa members did not reach the relationships they wanted between nurses with respect to residents. To achieve the conditions in former private and associative care, it must be a recommendation of the Royal Commission for the Assistance of the Elderly. However, the Bupa member`s action is proof that the commitment of ANMF members to their EBA campaign has a considerable impact on the outcome. The ANMF employs nurses and midwives in the eba public sector as a reference agreement for their negotiations in all other workplaces. This is why salaries, allowances and many of the conditions are also stipulated in the agreement on public sector nurses and nurses and midwifery conventions.
